Summer 2026 Activities

Below is everything Pack 100 is up to this summer. If your Scout attends three events this summer, they will earn the Summer Activity Adventure!

Event: Pack 100 at Boonerang!
• Date and time: Saturday, June 20 from 11am-3pm
• Location: Boonerang Kid's Zone at the Watauga Library
• Details: We'll have gaga ball set up, a pack display showing the awesome things we have done and are fixin' to do, and selling some drinks and snacks. Existing Pack 100 families, please sign up here to help out!

• Other information: Wear a Scout tshirt or uniform shirt! And wear sunscreen!

Event: Invasive Worm Combat
• Date and time: Tuesday, June 23 at 6pm
• Location: South lot near the campus baseball field
• Details: We will be visiting the ASU natural area to look at forest floor critters with a special emphasis to remove any invasive worms that are encountered. Currently, there are some areas that are heavily infested with an invasive Asian jumping worm. It would be nice to remove as many as we could while also learning about our local forest ecosystem.   
• What to bring: Water bottle, sunscreen, clothes that can get dirty, gloves, ziplock bags

Event: Boone Bigfoots Scout Night
• Date and time: Saturday, July 11. First pitch at 6:30pm
• Location: Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium (233 Broyhill Inn Ln., Boone, NC 28607)
• Details: Pack 100 and other Scouts in Watauga and Ashe counties will cheer on the Boone Bigfoots against the Florence Flamingoes!
• What to bring: Wear a Scout shirt or uniform. Bring a glove to catch fly balls!

• Other information: The special Scout rate (good for siblings and parents as well) is $10. This covers entry and a hot dog or hamburger and a drink. You must buy your ticket in advance at this link.

Event: Pack Hike
• Date and time: Sunday, July 19 at 1pm
• Location: Otter Falls in Seven Devils (https://www.sevendevilsnc.gov/parks-and-recreation/page/otter-falls,https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/north-carolina/otter-falls-trail)
• What to bring: Sturdy shoes that can get wet; clothes that can get wet; towel; water and snacks; sun protection.

• Other information: The hike starts with a descent down to a waterfall, splash area, and lots of rocks and water pools to explore. The return trip is under a mile but a little steep at times, but there are ample benches and stopping points. Parts of the trail are closed due to Helene.

Event: District Shooting Sports Day
• Date and time: Saturday, August 1, 2pm
• Location: First Presbyterian of Boone (131 Big Valley St.)
• What to bring: Sun protection, water, snacks

• Other information:  Cost is $10 to cover materials. Registration and payment can be made here.

Event: Pack 100 Year Kick-off Picnic
• Date and time: Sunday, August 30, 2pm
• Location: Valle Crucis Park
• What to bring: Sun protection, water bottle, food to share

• Other information: For our 3rd Annual Kick-off Picnic, we'll be at the Herrick Pavilion at Valle Crucis Park. We'll have a raingutter regatta, share a potluck picnic, and get ready for the Scout year to begin!
